Coach Trip - Loseley Park - Nr. Guildford
Our main summer coach outing in 2009 was to Loseley Park near Guildford. The charge of £22 covered the cost of the coach, entrance to the house and garden and included guided tours of both the house and the walled garden. Originally designed by Gertrude Jekyll this is over 2 acres and includes a white garden, a rose garden, a herb garden and an organic vegetable garden. The house itself dates from Tudor times and has a fine collection of paintings and furniture. The gardens are splendid having been much extended and improved by the present generation. After the tours there was plenty of opportunity to stroll, shop and eat. Herman Dowling has provided some photographs of the trip.
